What is pi?

Many know that the formula for finding the circumference of a circle is pi times diameter…but what is “pi,” anyway?

Macbeth’s indecisiveness

Tara C.
2/27/2012

When Macbeth says: “who can be wise and astounded, calm and furious, loyal and neutral, all at the same time? Nobody.” ( 2.3.119-120) Macbeth gives a double meaning to this quote when he explains it is impossible to be two different people at once. This is ironic because Macbeth is a Hypocrite. Macbeth is a hypocrite because he said it’s impossible to be two different people at once yet he is doing it. Macbeth kept going back forth wether he should kill Duncan or not. First he wanted kill him then he didn’t and then he did kill him and after he felt terrible that he did. This shows how indecisive Macbeth is. Napoleon is the same person as Macbeth. Napoleon was indecisive wether he wanted his wife or not. Macbeth did not know wether to kill duncan or not. Napoleon did not know wether to keep his wife or not and he did.

How to find area on a rectangle

Today I learned that squares can help you find the area of any shape, yet it is easier just to get each side length and multiply them. If it is a square, for example, length is 10 and width is 10, then you just multiply 10*10 once and the area is 100; this is only for a square or a rectangle not any other shape. This is the same as adding up all of the squares that you drew because if a square is 10 by 10, than it’s an array, so it would be 10 across and 10 down the square. Then, you count all of the squares to get your area, or you could just multiply L x W (10×10 ) in this case. The only way the squares would work would be if each little square that you drew inside a rectangle to find the area would have to be 1 by 1. 1 by 1 is a standard measurement and helps compare rectangles. You can use any units like meters, feet and inches, etc as long as each box is 1 by 1.
